If only Luann mentioned the gift a few months in advanced and THEN Big Brother Brad would’ve ordered it.

Well, if it’s true that it’s the thought that counts, all Brad’s efforts were a gift. Unfortunately, they were a gift not given with a glad heart, though…

And now we have to wait and see where we end up on Monday…

Well, mates, since we had a little Dr. Demento retrospective the other day, here’s an old standard for Quill: (Sung with an Aussie country accent)--There was a red back on the toilet seat-when I sat down last night,-i didn’t see him in the dark-but Lord I felt his bite,-I leaped way up into the air-and when I hit the ground-that dirty red back spider-was no where to be found.-I hollered for the missus-and showed where I’d been bit-she grabbed a cut throat razor blade-‘n’ I nearly had a fit,-I said forget what’s on your mind-‘n’ call a doctor please,-‘cuz I got the feelin’ that the cure-is worse than the disease.-There was a red back on the toilet seat-when I sat down last night,-I didn’t see him in the dark-but Lord I felt his bite,-and now I’m here in hospital-a sad and sorry plight-‘n’ I curse that red back spider-on the toilet seat last night.-I can’t sit up, I can’t lie down,-I don’t know what to do,-all the nurses think it’s funny,-but that’s not my point of view,-and it’s a bit embarrassing-that’s not to say the least,-that I’m too sick to eat a bite-while that spider had a feast.-When I get back home again-I’ll tell you what I’ll do,-gonna make that spider suffer,-for the pain I’m goin’ thru-I’ve had so many needles-that I’m lookin’ like a sieve-‘n’ I promise you that spider-hasn’t very long to live.-There was a red back on the toilet seat-when I sat down last night,-I didn’t see him in the dark-but Lord I felt his bite,-and now I’m here in hospital-a sad and sorry plight-‘n’ I curse that red back spider-on the toilet seat last night.

Finally! Brad discovers the real spirit of Christmas!

Another senseless waste of resources and time on a holiday which has forever lost its truest meaning.

Maybe tomorrow will be Luann starting final exams for the semester and realizing not attending her classes has gotten her into a helluva lot of trouble academically?

Of course, it never occurred to Brad that he could just buy Luann something else for Christmas other than the gift he was looking for but couldn’t find. I worry about the intelligence level of people entrusted to make emergency decisions in the Pitt Fire Department.

To Brad: Scrooge. Why not just get something else and keep what ever you ordered for her birthday, and keep your Ba Humbug attitude to yourself.

Well, Brad just needs to let off some steam, he’ll say he’s sorry in the next comic strip.

I would say that maybe she keeps him at arm’s distance because he’s an idiot, but that’s probably not it, since she hasn’t shown signs of any over-abundance of brain cells herself.

Checking nine brick-and-mortar stores, but only one vendor online? I think that I see his problem.

It happens. When that happens to me, I wrap a picture of the present with a note that it’s on its way.

Pet peeve: People who wrap their gifts in guilt. Do you say “thank you” or “I’m sorry?”

Maybe when he pulls this same stunt with Toni, she will ask herself “Just what is it that I see in this guy anyway???”, and then she will dump him.

It’s like Christmas with my parents. They always complain about how hard it is to buy gifts for us, how much work, and then they throw in the final, “I’m not even sure you guys like what we get.” Yeah, talk about Christmas cheer.

Brad sounds like 80% of the population this time of year.

The gift is a brother who would do that…

Sunday stuff is usually pure filler.

1. They cannot agree on anything about the wedding.2. They acknowledge the problems they are going to have when married (Brad being a messy slob) and refuse to discuss them.3. They have trouble discussing any issues about anything(both are hot headed).4. The only reason Toni proposed is because of Dirk jealously, that he had moved on from her and was genuinely happy.5. Strips like today, Brad acts like a child when he gets frustrated. He made Toni cry on the phone when she indirectly cost him a minimum wage fast food job.

1) Brad has saved Toni (literally) several times, even injuring himself in the process:

2) Brad is the best thing that’s happened to Shannon (even better than Toni, I’d argue)

3) Most couples have trouble discussing those things. But that doesn’t mean they can’t learn to grow and discuss, if they love each other.Nor would it be just cause to break up.

4) Even if seeing Dirk was a catalyst for Toni to take action, she could have easily done so by dumping Brad at the time. She didn’t. She chose Brad. So she must have some feeling for him.

5) They love each other! I haven’t seen any significant evidence to the effect that they can’t resolve or (at least) live with their differences. If they have more and more “spirited” disputes over things, then maybe they aren’t meant for each other. But, even with what issues they’ve had so far, I’m not convinced they’re anywhere near that point.

I’m just pointing out the negatives in their relationship. If their relationship were to fall apart, it wouldn’t be surprising based on what we’ve seen (though I’d be surprised because Evans would never do anything that interesting). Any drama will likely be low key, like “where do we sit everyone at the wedding” and “do we trust TJ to make the food”.

Well, Greg did advise us to “expect some drama and trauma” at the wedding. So we’ll have to see what that entails.

Bit scary for a fireman to be that stupid..does he think the big “E” meant "Extra gas available?

Why must people allow a date on a calendar to dictate when to give some one you supposedly love, a gift from the heart?Is is not best to give them a gift unexpectedly, rather than to do so begrudgingly due to a demand of custom or tradition?

I’m a knitter, the first year after college I knitted myself a sweater because I couldn’t find a job and had plenty of time to work on it. My sister liked the sweater so much she asked me to make her one for Christmas and I agreed because the yarn was cheap enough that I could afford it, then I got a job and didn’t have time to finish it before Christmas so I wrapped the yarn and put it under the tree as a promise to make her sweater when I had time. She ended up taking my sweater and promised to return it when I finished hers, I did . . . eventually.

The reason Brad and Shannon get along so well is that by his very nature, Brad is more nearly her friend than her parent.

Boooorrrring! Let’s get bact to Toni and Brad! Forget all this meandering all over the world stuff. Toni is still the number 1 draw for this strip? Have you forgotten?Get ’er done!

Leave it to a guy to not appreciate all of the perks of doing one’s shopping at a mall! Brad should have known that if the online catalog didn’t have the present he wanted to give to Luann, the stores wouldn’t have it either! =-O
