At least it seems as if Luann finally has a friend (which is nice, considering she probably lost her love interest, and her parents are more concerned with their wallets than their daughter’s relationships…)

Just suggest to Frank that he really ought to charge Prudence more rent than he had planned to. Once Frank makes his “offer”, Pru will never show up, and the problem is solved. The blame is Frank’s, for being a total jerk, so Luann is off the hook.

The funny thing is (maybe not so funny), is you look at ‘Luann Againn’ for today, the parental units are dumping a load of guilt on her for ‘expecting’ stuff from them. Yet here she is, expected to accept their decision to move a potential rival into their home.

Yeah, she would be better off elsewhere.

It might take a month till we see her. The odds are good that no one in the family will ask questions about her till she shows up, like when Rosa didn’t ask questions about her uncle’s clinic before she got there.

Here’s a possible twist for you: Pru arrives, and Quill asks Gunther to do the costumes (after all- he DOES have the experience already). Pru meets Gunther, and takes a fancy to him. Tiff get her pretty little nose out of joint and fights for Gunther, because she actually LIKES him.

We just know that Pru is gonna win over Berneice.

I have a feeling that, before this is all over, Pru and Luann will become fast friends, leaving Bernice to sputter and swallow her premature anger….

So I guess it;s out of the question that Quill and this mystery woman really are ONLY friends as well as that she turns out not to be physically attractive by main stream standards and that maybe she and Luann become friends as well? Oh well.

Ooh, maybe she’s Anne Eiffel’s younger sister and this is all part of her nefarious plot to return to Pitt and exact revenge for how they foiled her sister’s nefarious plots. Like out of that daytime drama, “Love’s Tormenting Itch.”

Pru of course is just Quill’s pal, and Pru will soon be Luann’s pal. This should be obvious to everyone. This comic strip is all about happy endings, which is a good thing.

Prudence has written a show and is an experienced director. There is no way she’s a college student. At least I hope this is the case.

I’m guessing Pru could be Luann’s grandmother.

I’m betting that Prudence is in her 60s.

I’m almost willing to bet all the money I have (about .37 cents) that Pru won’t be who everyone think she is.

As with Dez, we seem to be in another very long “build up” for the entrance of a new character. Wonder if we’ll switch story lines for the next month before returning to Pru’s grand entrance?

Every place I’ve ever rented (in California), I had to fill out an application covering such things as my age, employment history, marital status, and a bunch of other stuff.

If Frank and Nancy are planning to charge Prudence rent for the room (which I consider outrageous, given the points others have raised about the show), or even let her stay there for free, surely they would have requested such information. You don’t just hand someone a key to your home without some kind of background check!

I realize there are privacy laws about sharing such info, but I don’t think it would be illegal or unreasonable for Nancy to tell Luann not to worry.

This story arc has really gone off the rails in terms of internal logic. Worse than the insurance scam, worse than Gunther’s trip to Peru, it just makes no sense. Either that, or Q and L’s relationship really is incredibly dysfunctional, and we’re just not being shown how messed-up the two of them really are.

Time to move on, in more ways than one.

Tomorrow: Nancy and Frank are still middle-aged, and Luann’s room is still messy.-For the next 2 weeks: Brad and Toni give us ample reason to believe that the gene pool is doomed should they ever mate and reproduce.-The following week: Luann is on Thanksgiving break from Pitt CC, so she can unwind from the pressures of all the hard studying we’ve seen her doing since September. (Huh?)-Nov 30: The family goes to pick up Prudence at the airport, and they are stunned when Quill greets her at the baggage claim and she is 60 years old.-Dec 1: The family is further stunned when Quill and Prudence engage in a lengthy and deeply passionate kiss.

Yesterday she was inside the dorm. Now she is outside. You are being more than picky today.

Do the Evans have a long range story arc in mind, or do they just make it up as they go along? The latter would explain why Luann doesn’t seem to know anything about Pru yet.

Pru is a pod person.

Another “prediction”: Frank’s telling Prudence that she must pay him rent to stay in his home will make Pru pout and start to cry, which will make Frank feel a teeny bit guilty, since Prudence turns out to be 12 years old.

Excuse me, but it takes a lot of gall for the de Groots to charge Prudence rent if she’s taking the trouble and expense to travel from New York, provide her own script, and produce the show for the de Groot’s own grand opening. If anything they should be paying her fare dwon at least.

And when you receive the script for Prudence’s holiday show and see that the title is “Ninja Reindeer Kill-Fest”.

Another abrupt change in the story was last year’s introduction of the “new” cast, namely Bernice’s dorm mates at Moony. We had a big to-do about meeting them, and then they all disappeared in the week leading up to Quill’s Halloween show, and we never saw any of them again until this year.

I agree, but it’s weird that Team Evans chose to drop the whole cast rather than just that one character. Since the whole purpose of letting the kids graduate from high school was to introduce new characters into the cast, that decision seemed to negate the whole new direction of the strip.

Hey… I wonder what the destiny deck would have to say about Piro and Bern… changing the subject a bit…

Now if she looked like Elwood, Luann might have little to worry about.
