And with only $2M+ of magic money that came from nowhere, we put together a venue to host unseen shows with invisible collegiate casts, drawing a paying audience of literally dozens! We’re gazillionaires now, baby!!!

Yes we did, but remember this is Luannverse. And I knew they would, but the book is not closed yet. Remember I think the prevailing view is that Brad and Toni will get married here on 9/11/16.

Hard to imagine any demand whatsoever for “The Fuse”; even the comic strip can’t be bothered to show any patrons.

If this storyline ends with anything aside from the DeGroots filing bankruptcy for an absurdly stupid business decision or Mr. Gray successfully organizing a bust out, I’ll consider it the most fake part of Luann’s universe, narrowly ahead of (1) Toni having an interest in Brad and (2) the characters from Luann’s high school all hanging out through the year even though they’ve gone to different colleges.

Me think Luann as are most kids..no matter the age , are uncomfortable when ever parents seem to be getting seriously romantic and moving beyond the first base area in their interactions..Better to move on and thnk along the lines of “emacualate conception..”

    1) I miss Knute’s thumb today.*2) I miss Mom’s Maidenform woes. Same as I have when wearing a low-shouldered dress that requires either a strapless bra or safety pins to hold straps in un-designed positions. Accidents do happen, but are never portrayed elsewhere.

BuckarooDave3…. your suggested plot twist (Gunther’s Mom and Mr. Gray in a “compromising” position") would be extraordinarily interesting! But I doubt it would happen…. I would even bet my favorite Peterson full-bent briar that it will not. (Important caveat: “Compromising” would have to involve more than just kissing for me to give up my pipe! :) )

(Buckaroo)Dave(3) and Brdshtt…. what would you speculate may be the “payment” Mr. Gray will want in return for all his efforts? I have thought of a variety of different “50’s Film-noir” style of required payments… but have had difficulty trying to think of any that have a comedic edge to them (which I still tend to think would be the likely path Greg would choose). So, I would enjoy hearing your speculations about how this Mr. Grey may extract payment… especially without the story arc getting too “dark”.

Art Gallery…. yayyyy… I’m guessing we have a week and a half to go (max) long enough for Zebo to show up and for some of the Quill-Pru melodrama to rear up again, and of course I wonder about this show; it can’t just be swept under the rug..

Maybe Mr. Gray is like that ‘Secret Santa’ guy who shows up around this time every year and hands out $100 bills to total strangers that he sees struggling to pay for what they want to buy in stores…

To answer your questions (with whole hearted speculation that may sometimes be “tongue-in-cheek”):1. Because Mrs. Berger has no money for him to steal, he must be dating her because he actually likes her. Why would he throw that away by trying to screw over her friends?Maybe Grey is a part of the Witness Protection Program because he snitched on some fellow Mafia types…. but he cannot control his urges to be a “heavy” and in “control”. It would seem he does like Mrs. Berger for real, but maybe he is having trouble changing?2. If he’s rich, why didn’t he just create The Fuse himself? He did pretty much all the work. He knows how to run a business. If he’s rich he could create a chain of businesses and be rich on the level. The WPP idea would fit here as well. Perhaps he isn’t rich… perhaps he just has a lot of “connections” that he cannot seem to control himself from getting into contact with again. Perhaps what the end game will be that his getting back into the “business” and getting involved again with his “partners” will lead to his very harsh, graphic, and tragic demise? 3. Did he move to San Diego and play a long con for a year in hopes that someone, somewhere would start a business, let him run it, and then hope to fleece them?Again the WPP idea could work at explaining…. perhaps Grey is psychologically in turmoil over his “ratting out” his other Mafia buddies that he is now acting out…. and rebelling against the protection afforded him? 4. The Fuse doesn’t sound profitable at all, and both the DeGroots and TJ appear to be tapped out financially. You can’t squeeze blood from a turnip. What exactly is he going to hassle them for?It may be that he “lives” to hassle… with his Mafia history, he may find it a compulsion!Again, please realize I find it fun to speculate wildly, and I mean these ideas mostly “tongue-in-cheek”.
