Oddly drawn, Lori and Rhonda are. Okay, Tiffany, I am ready for ACTION…now. I mean, right this minute. No more dawdling. Plenty of that the past 2 weeks.
Lori looks like Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter movies. But, I think that the above comments are correct……….these two ladies are caricatures of real people. Maybe they’re from the police vice squad because I fear that our hot Tiffany is over matched.
Judging from the reaction of the two Rhonda and Lori, I do not think anyone at the party will give a rats a** that the stuff is counterfeit. “Like, we’re having a good time who cares.”
We have an interesting moral quagmire. Ann is selling fake product according to Tiffany – are we sure? In any event – Tiffany’s main motivation is to destroy her father’s relationship with Ann Eiffel. Tiffany at 19 or 20 should not begrudge her father having a life. So all the more interesting to see how this turns out – guessing is difficult at this point.
“Oh we’re so pretty, Oh so pretty, We’re vacant” – The Sex Pistols. If they are real people, they’re not too flattering. They’re having way too much fun over overpriced perfume and a strawberry.

It is always interesting to see new people portrayed in the comic. Rhonda and Lori are unlikely to remain in the comic for any appreciable length of time, but they are interesting to me in a few ways:
1) Rhonda has a little bit of facial architecture that appears similar to how Greg draws himself. If he based Rhonda off of a real-life person, perhaps he has a sister he is modeling Rhonda after.
2) Lori was striking for me, because she looks like a near perfect rendition of a person I work with. It was amazing the likeness.
3) One thing that is a bit different for both Rhonda and Lori is their clothing. It “seemed” that the “luxurious” nature of the Souffle Lingerie parties of the past had folks more dressy. Rhonda and Lori look more casual in their attire (as a brief, semi-humorous aside… I also tend to think Ronda and Lori’s clothing has a “Star Trek” sort of quality).
4) One other thought to consider…. we understand these are “fake” products and there should be some consequences for that. But, as Rhonda and Lori are repeat customers and they both seemed to really love the previous party(ies) they attended…. even with Ann being deceptive, she ALSO appears to have a lot of talent in this sort of venue and could probably make a legitimate go of this sort of thing… if she ends up at the end of this only getting a “slap-on-the-wrist” sort of punishment.
Hey. Those Ladies might be Cops. Careful what you say and do, Tiff!
Oh, and Officers? Don’t forget to take down that Worthless Punk at the Door, Too! He was In on the whole Scam and took a hefty part of the “Take!” In fact, He probably planned the whole thing! ;)
IF the two ladies are friends of Greg or Karen, they’re NOT being portrayed in too complimentary a fashion (I don’t mean that visually). If anything, it’s rather an insult! They come off as ditzy, unknowing victims.
It could be that they are just acquaintances of the Evans, and they’re not-too-swift on the draw, like the many clueless that are out there. Reminds me of how Walt Kelly would depict certain figures in anything BUT a good light!
Has anybody here gone to lingerie sales events? Are they really so entertaining that people would be repeat attendees? With regards to today’s strip, do you think it is credible that women would consider it a “life changing" event?
I don’t see where all the “caricature” comments are coming from. We’ve met Rhonda before, and she looked about the same then too. That they are drawn with more lines than most of the regular characters? That’s because most of the regular characters are young girls. Ann’s customers are women, possibly including older women, not girls. That’s all there is to it, as far as I’m concerned.
I do appreciate the dry menace in Wicked’s final remark. Ann Eiffel is in for a serious fight, regardless of what the outcome might be. Rhonda and Lori are perfect examples of why we need The Fighting Tiffster!
Interestingly, the banner behind them in this strip spells Lingerie, correctly, unlike the sign outside the door. So Ann can’t use that sign to claim people should have known they are knock offs because the name wasn’t exact. I hope Les hasn’t betrayed her. He been showing signs that there is some good in him. Rooting for Tiffany and wanting her to succeed is a new experience for me. Ann is a snake…and anyone she comes in contact with (except TJ) has come out worse for it. I want to see her bested and defeated. TJ did great with her at Weenie World, but I hope this is better. I’m expecting Tiffany’s dad to be brought into this, though, either showing up in person, or Ann mentioning him as her supplier. Looking forward to, but dreading the next few strips. LOL, you would think these are real people, not fiction!!
People go to those parties fully intending to spend money. It really doesn’t matter if the stuff is real or fake, either. Tupperware, Pampered Chef, adult toys, Scentsee, etc. No one goes to those parties without buying something. If you spent $400 at one of these, it’s because you brought $400 to spend.
