I had a teacher who made no bones about who her favorite student was. Everyone in class knew it. He hated it. And unfortunately some classmates teased him relentlessly for it. I felt terrible for him. It didn’t help that none of us liked her, either. She wasn’t mean, but she was constantly having us do things she thought was “cute,” as well as giving up tons of in-class busy work: copying the dictionary. When she had to withdraw mid-year due to health (I heard it was gallbladder issues) we were all glad she was gone. Nobody was happier than the teacher’s pet!
