Oh Man, I know! When I read about the new series coming out of Batgirl being a lesbian I was just flabbergasted! Not one time in any of my comic books of Batman, Superman Fantastic Four etc., was sex an issue. The only thing we new was Superman really liked Lois Lane.
Fortunately for us, we never need to watch the general run of current sitcoms, because their preview spots show us what to expect. Our choice has nothing to do with the ethnic/gender mix but, instead, the sample of what passes for humor and acting talent just turns us off. If I actually met people like that, it would only be the one time.
You will NEVER see a sitcom with straight white people only. It is just not allowed any more anywhere. You must be mixed raced and gender confused or it will not be picked up. Fortunately I have DVD’s of the old school stuff that is still funny.
You know I bought the Looney Toons Golden Collection and my kids preferred it to the crap that passes off for cartoon entertainment now. My son even like the old He-Man series where at the end of every show someone on the winning side explains why the bad side didn’t win.
WTF, aren’t most sitcoms historically ye olde straight white couples? Including the ones today? Christ forbid there be a bit of diversity on the air to reflect the people who ACTUALLY live in this country.

But the male will be made to look like a fool. It’s been that way ever since I Love Lucy went off the air.

About the only thing I watch, anymore, is the Cooking Channel which, BTW, has a greater audience than CNN.

People still watch sitcoms? A series of tired put downs and sarcasms that are supposed to be jokes into the thinnest thread of a plot?

Must be the history channel.

I see what I am missing, when I quit watching TV, more than 20 years ago. I am happy to be missing that crap.

Funny is funny. Pay attention to the punchline, and not who is delivering it.
