I know some cats who have been zooming a lot longer than that.

Will resume zooming in 2021.

I was laid off in 2019. I spent that summer job hunting. This meant that I had to set up an office to do it from and also discipline myself to a schedule and keeping on task to divide home from work and vice versa.

Little did I know how well that experience prepared me for working from home now.

There’s probably an app that offers fake rooms as backgrounds. Asking for a raise? Tatty furniture, grim walls, overflowing desk, and an image of a wife and children. Talking to buds? Beer cooler, chip dish, sports trophies. Chatting up a possible date? Leather furniture, book case, fireplace, big tv, chandelier, wine glasses. Lying about vacation? Picture window, ocean view, sunlight, sailboat scene. Job interview? Desk, pc, neat files, book case. Possibilities are endless.

I’m not sure how “Zoom” got to be the generic term. I suppose it is shorter than videoconferencing but there are definitely a number of products that do essentially the same thing.
