Lots of grooves have been redirected during the last 2 years. Patterns have changed. Avoiding the deep boredom that can fall to ennui has become the new exercise.
If I go to a fancy restaurant for dinner and there is a table of screaming kids next to me, I am annoyed.
If I go to lunch at a family restaurant for lunch and there is a table of screaming kids next to me, that’s expected. I don’t get annoyed. In fact, I’m glad my wife and I are past the stage where we have to feed screaming kids.
