60 years ago I had a choice of half a dozen drugstore and department store cafés and restaurants that served good food, had friendly staffs, and reasonable prices. Not so for the last 4 decades. Too bad. Current boxes with drive through windows, hard waiting room seating, and one server behind a counter just don’t carry that same comfortable feeling. Sort of takes the ‘neighborly’ out of the day.
