A friend’s son was a great kid but spent most of his early 20’s being a life guard/swim coach. When he hit 22, Dad gave him choice – a full time job or move back with his mother. No more support after a certain date.
That, too, was a great move. Kid has been successful beyond Dad’s expectations.
Doesn’t always work, witness the comic ‘Dustin,’ which, in my experience with students, is very accurate.

That’s the age the Kids are when he trades her in for a girlfriend the same age as the Kids.
