Well, Jarvis... The Captain's gone... The ships sinking and the shark is making its final approach... Looks like this could be the end, ol chum... Blam! If not if not for the call I put into father's contacts at Boeing... Who rapidly deployed a squadron of Apache attack helicopters equipped with AGM-114 hellfire missiles.

Aw. I was rooting for the shark.

The Apache attack helicopter, my favorite. I3 they sent out the older model and not the D model with the radar dome. I guess they really didn’t need the high tech targeting system that the D model employs to take out a poor harmless shark.

The military jargon is pretty much all correct. The Apache is a Boeing product, and the Hellfire missile is designated AGM-114. This is, however, a kind of deus ex machina surprise ending, because we never saw Sedgie make or even suggest the call to his powerful and well-connected father for help (nor, apparently, did Jarvis). Too bad for the Great White, though it did get a good last meal, a.k.a. the captain….

At the ginormous Farnborough air show in London I got to sit in an Apache cockpit. Tres cool. No Hellfire missiles, though.

I thought Sedgie would get rescued by a helicopter. I’m selfishly grateful; that little snot cracks me up.

Monty is the best daily comic strip in print today. The artwork has greatly improved since the Robotman days. Why hasn’t someone ever published collections of these strips in books? I certainly would buy them.

I hope that shark wasn’t Mary Lee.
“Looks like this could be the end, ol’ chum”. “Chum”? Poor choice of words, Master Sedgewick. Or were you suggesting Jarvis sacrifice himself?

Sedgwick is disturbingly knowledgeable about such things…

I love the ode to Jaws the week’s strip was doing. And as for Deus Ex Machina? Well, why not? It’s the funny papers after all.

I don’t care about Seggie but glad that Jarvis survived.
