To really test the newly fixed bagel toaster, I got some frozen bagels from the freezer! Zzzzttt Kachunk Well, it's no big deal to just scrape the dark bands off with a butter knife... Actually, I kinda like the contrast between the dry, burnt center part and the damp, frozen edges...

I bought several 12 volt pizza ovens from truck stops through the years. They fail after about three months, so I take them apart to see why. usually melted wires, or too small a washer holding the supply wire to the heating element. It is usually unrepairable, nowhere to buy these parts. But if it is the overheat element or a bad wire, I can change it and get another 6 months out of it. The bad part is they went from $15 to $40 or more and the quality not much better. It’s worth it to have a hot pizza in the truck.
