I remember well, back in the 1950’s, that the popular magazines were predicting that in a few years everyone would have a nuclear reactor producing almost free electricity to run the house in one corner of their garage. The program was flawed, obviously, when they discovered that few garages had room among all the junk for even a tiny one.
