“I’ve got a card that does for all the holidays … it’s a picture of Saint Valentine in a Halloween costume with an Easter rabbit under his arm hitting Santa Claus over the head with a firecracker and wishing him a happy Mother’s Day.” ~ Mel Blanc
I was in Michael’s the other day, halloween stuff was on the discount pile and xmas stuff was all over the place- thanksgiving seems to have bene forgotten.
I wonder if Mike Peters is taking the time off of Mother Goose and Grimm for his 80th. birthday just like Charles Schulz did take time off Peanuts for his 75th. birthday back in Christmas 1997…
Years ago, my father and I stopped at a store at the end of August. I noticed one of the other stores nearby had Christmas items visible through their front door. I thought they were pushing Christmas way too early.
But, that store is an arts-and-crafts store. Some of their customers make things they give at Christmas. So, they would appreciate having 4 months in which to make the gifts.
Times sure have changed (and “NOT” for the better) ….. growing up my Parents had a retail store and we decorated at the earliest was first of the holiday or event month …. Christmas was when we got home from my Grandparents on Thanksgiving night ……. :)

One major store chain had Christmas stuff out about a week ago.

Oddly enough, a compelling argument for that costume.

You could use a Christmas tree for trick-or-treaters -
Set the treats out under the Christmas tree. You could even wrap them up and/or put a little bow around the candy bars or packages.

One of our local stores has the Christmas decorations right next to the Halloween ones.

Our Dollar Tree started selling Christmas stuff a little early as well.

Stores should just put out Xmas stuff on July 5, you know they want to.

This comic appeared ten years ago. Is MG&G in re-runs?

I worked in retail for 47 years. This is one of the reasons I don’t like holidays. Holiday burn out!

Absolutely, allegorically brilliant! Great art too… And the art is hysterically funny in and of itself!…

Makes perfect sense, in a warped sort of way.
