This was written after I left with, with an empty feeling in my heart. I headed north from SoCal and wounf up along the coast up in Mendocino County.
Tall firs on a foggy ridgePeer dimly at a restless sea. A wave rises up, then crashes downOn the parient wating sand.A soft damp breeze caresses the treesAs I stand below, sad and lonely. The sea and the sandThey meet and touchAnd even in strifeThe merge and are one.My heart lies heavy in my chest, and my mind is dull and numb. The mist drifts down, but I don’t feelThe drop;ets that roll down my cheeks.I stand here…. Alone…. alone on a fogbound coast While my mind wanders far to the south.
