Last night we watched “Pillow Talk” and “Pride of the Yankees”. I read the “production notes” on Pillow Talk and it turns out that it was Hudson’s first comedy movie. He had been reluctant to do it because he had never done comedy before. Day was a bit reluctant, too because it was the first of her “sex” comedies and was a major readjustment of her image.
“Pride of the Yankees” inspired me to spend some time looking up Lou Gehrig on the internet. He was only 36 when he quit baseball in 1939 and 38 when he died two years later. What an amazing man he was, and not just because he was so good at baseball.
Yesterday I got all of the family photos finally hung, along with a few others. I also went through those 3 big boxes of games and we decided which ones we want to keep. I’m donating 2 big boxes full plus 4 loose ones to Salvation Army today. The rest fit nicely into our “game cabinet”.
I set up my Thanksgiving cornucopia a couple of days ago. It has a bunch of stuffed cloth fruits & veggies with it, and Sting thinks it is his new toy box. I find little stuffed fruits and veggies all over the house, including under my bed.
The weather is still holding steady around here and I’m loving the heck out of it.
