I’m surprised Fritzi isn’t going as She-Hulk.

Hopefully – Fritzi will have a date with Phil and we will get to see Nancy, S;uggo, Fritzi and Phil, all getting ready for a masquerade party.

True since it was the 1930’s. Of course she is Nancy’s aunt so that should help. If she had no family ties then it would have been unusual then.

What’s really important is the fact that no matter what costume Fritzi chooses, it’s going to reduce poor Phil to a blithering idiot. LOL!

You know, it’s too bad this is a family strip, cause I sure wouldn’t mind seeing Fritzi dressed up as Vampirella for Halloween.

Honestly? I’ve never even heard of Mary Marvel…

Since Guy seems to like the DC heroines, might I suggest an often overlooked DC babe that Fritzi might be perfect for…Zatanna (Fritzi in fishnets…yummm!).

Really it’s an either or situation. But how about Fritzi as Catwoman? One thing’s certain—poor Phil’s gonna be a nervous wreck whatever she wears!!

@TXPAScotMary Marvel is one of those characters that DC acquired from Fawcett Comics way back when & didn’t do much with until after 1985 (post-Crisis of Infinite Earths). Associated characters are Captain Marvel (the original created by Fawcett back in 1942, not the Marvel comics one who showed up years later) & Captain Marvel Jr.Hope that helps.

Phil should go as Superman (with a dark wig) and Fritzi as Lois Lane.

I’m just amazed that Guy remembers Mary Marvel’s costume, and the really wide lightning bolt. Problem with Mary is that only old guys like me remember her and the other two Marvels.

People remember Wonder Woman, because she didn’t have to contend with a pinhead judge, who said that any character that could fly was a rip off of Superman. DC Comics won, and the Marvel family sadly slipped into comic book oblivion.

She has been Wonder woman before, plus, I expect her to match Phil’s costume. Mary Marvel would be better. I wish She and Phil would go as Dr. Frankenstein and Frankentein’s Monster’s bride.

Definitely as Wonder Woman! (I always saw the resemblance!) She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! Phil better marry her before I do!( am I crushing on a fictional character? Yes, yes I am!)

DC did not actually beat Fawcett in the lawsuit; Fawcett gave up. Comics sales were down across the board, and Fawcett decided to leave the business and abandon the fight. When DC decided to bring the characters back years later, they had to officially buy them from Fawcett, although they were fairly cheap, since Fawcett didn’t really want them anymore, and the terms of the lawsuit settlement meant that no third party could get in. (However, trademark law is different from copyright law, and Marvel Comics had established a lock on the word “Marvel” as a title, which is why all of DC’s books starring Captain Marvel have been named with some variation on “Shazam!”.)

As to the costumes, Fritzi is much more the Wonder Woman type; she’s too tall for Mary Marvel.

Maybe next year she can go as Madame Triple-X; now that we’ve had Stanley, it seems only fair to give Carl Barks an innings too.

Because a Black headed woman can make a freight train jump its track.

I reckon you think i’m easily impressed… I actually liked Oona Goosepimple. I figure we will see more of her tomorrow.

I vote for Mary Marvel. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the Wonder Woman get-up. I like the hair styled that way as well. Guy, you should really consider selling prints of Fritzi in the MM costume.

So I don’t get the point of your original statement. The Oona arc began on 10-14. I see only four 4-panel strips.
