Caption: nancy By Guy Gilchrist. Nancy: Maria! So, back in the 1970s, all the kids only had 3 CHANNELS on their TVs! Maria: Just 300? Nancy: No! Just 3! Like, 1, 2, 3! Seriously...3! That's SCARY! Can you imagine? Just flipping the remote two times back and forth, back and forth?? Nancy: They didn't have REMOTES! Maria: No wonder they grow up to be SO CRABBY!
We had four: the local affiliates for ABC, NBC, CBS, and PBS. And they used to show lots of kid friendly stuff weekday afternoons, as opposed to all the chat show and judge show dreck they have now.
And what made us crabby was the way the channel knob would wear out, forcing us to use a pliers to change the channel.
