Apparently I’m in the minority, but I am baffled by the positive reviews of the new Nancy. I wasn’t much of a Nancy fan until Gilchrist took over. The new Nancy seems to have regressed to the old lame gags and flat, 2-D drawings. No depth. I will admit though that the coloring seems to have improved.
I cannot believe how many people commenting on today’s comic have no idea that Smartphone apps exist to estimate how people will age based on a current selfie picture. EB died in the 1980s and it is time for the strip to catch up with the times.
Olivia: THANK YOU for listening to the readers—including me—and changing the skin tone from whatever the heck it was to a me normal human one! Yeah, it’s just a picture, but it’s also a make-believe world that makes believe we’re IN it for a very short time, and it’s important to see “people” who we can relate to even at a small level. Keep reading these comments. We all want the strip to succeed.
I signed up for this site (and started reading this comic for the first time) because of the small commotion Nancy has caused on the internet.
For what it’s worth I like this new artist a lot and am glad it is no longer either so sentimentally schlocky nor so creepily attentioned to Fritzi’s boobs

She ain’t yellow today.
The colorist followed the advice of the syndicate, which read the complaints.

They’ll grow as fast as she has. 50 years later she still looks the same too. : – 0

What’s ‘Nancee22’? Was 22 the year the strip originated?

Nancy forgot to put her bow in the picture. Oh, no.

Olivia: I read in Jimmy Johnson’s blog that you had picked up the torch and were doing a fine job with “Nancy.”
I agree. Keep up the great work.

Wow….more traditional comic color makes a world of difference! Now, if only I understood the joke…..

Definitely an improvement in the colour category. Gag is serviceable.

Azaleas are bushes/flowering shrubs. There should already be something there.

Olivia Jaimes certainly seems to have a job of work in front of her.
Fortunately, the first few weeks suggest she’s up for it.

I laughed out loud, which is high praise in a library. It has a good punchline execution.
