What is the cliche… the “Long, Long Winding Road”, Freddie with his goalie mask and chain saw, the “Endless Desert” or the trials and tribulations suffered Brigham Young before entering UTAH?
Where"s the Burma Shave sign just behind the guy in the hockey mask? The Burma Shave sign was always at the end of the line of signs along the highway, and with the chainsaw signalling the end of the line for anyonegiving this guy a ride.
Thanks for your reminder of days long gone.….“eggs in your beer”…….Haven’t heard that one in years, and haven’t seen any Burma Shave signs in many moons, either.
Never have known of anyone ever having tried the eggs and beer combo and was never brave enough to give it a try.Now that you’ve provided this reminder, maybe willgive it a whirl after imbibing a sufficient amount of brew to induce a good buzz.
Riot in drugstore…..Calling all cars…….100 customers……99 jars…….Burma ShaveEnd of the line for you if picking up guys in hockey masks armed with chainsaws just in front of Burma Shave signs.
Thanks for this from one who’s been there, and done that. Can’t argue with that, but still think a good buzz is a prerequisite to trying that concoction in my case.Good idea for us Joe Sixpacks who can barely afford Budweiser, though.
Here’s one that has application to today’s strip, if anyone thinks a rabbit’s foot will spare them from being turned into mincemeat by the chainsaw.
On curves ahead………Remember sonny………That rabbit’s foot didn’t save the bunny……BURMA SHAVE.
Promise to stop before turning this into a Burma Shave commercial, and we’re not getting any royalties for inserting them. And those signs were everywhere. Thousands of jingles.

Do not stop. Do not drive past. (last ones who did ended the same way as the ones that stopped.) This is not a major highway, paved. The shows cowtrail after the sign… up ahead... U Turn! U Turn! U Turn!!! and dont let the wheels touch the dirt/sand!!!
This strip well demonstrates the attitude of each political party toward the other and even toward their constituents…er…well, either that or the moral and spiritual wasteland left by nefarious religious entities….er…oh, never mind again. (Sigh…timing is everything!)
Loved those Burma Shave signs. I tried to remember some of my favorites, even tried to look on Google. Too many of them to find a favorite.“I grow old … I grow old …”

Nice reference to the made-for-TV movie. “DUEL” Lord Garth… one of the best ever. Wasn’t that an early Steven Spielberg film?

Sign is on the wrong side of the road because it’s a Dead End … a one-way street to Hell.
