Man holding badge: Excuse me, sir...NSA...are you the author of Anoesis News service? Eddie: Ah-yeh. Man that was holding badge: Our investigation of fake news postings on social media led us to your items on government secrets. We're here to seize your laptop. Ned: Whoa...hold on. "Fake News" falls under satire, which is protected speech! Man in black: Yes, sir, we know......but we didn't say anything about his news being fake. Eddie: *SIGH* Suppressed again... Ned: Yeah, but...wait...what?
@mwaurelius The travesty of news manipulation goes back even further. Check the stories of what was left out of the so called ‘battle front’ news reels of WWII. Had American families been allowed to see the actual death toll and brutality of battle, the ‘stop the war’ movement might have begun long before VE or VJ day. Imagine today’s world if the internet had existed then or during WWI.
