I can only imagine that the guy with the bat’s going to do more damage than just hitting our unsuspecting pedestrian around the head. And, anyway, what’s the idiot doing walking on his own down that seedy street?
In light of the alarming violence occurring in many big cities, with innocent people being randomly attacked, I find this comic deeply troubling. It is both deplorable and disappointing. Also to see the villain portrayed exclusively as a white man.
It’s like buying a new computer then having the software provider require an expensive update the next day. Coercion in modern life. There’s lots of that going around.
Many years ago when I lived in another state, I was waiting for a red light and there were two cars in front of me. All of a sudden both car occupants emptied out and they went at each other. One had an aluminum bat and every time he hit somebody in the head that bat pinged and a slight echo was made. I backed up, made a u turn and was out of there. I moved out of there when gangbangers rented the house across the street.
This is how the Mob does it. No different than paying protection money. Perhaps, the “batter” won’t hit you if you buy the helmet his associate is selling.

I think the helmet vendor is going to need one for himself soon.

The logistics sort of works – right good at the right place at the right time (right price is debatable). Seller needs a better marketing program!

Yeah, batting helmets, to protect you while batting – from balls – not bats.

Unfortunately his potential customers won’t feel the need to buy one until it’s too late.

“Holy Hardwood, Batman! Who’s that lurking in the alley?”
“That, Robin, is the infamous Louisville Slugger. To the Batmobile!”

A batting helmet isn’t meant to protect you FROM bats…
