Keep going, MisngNOLA, you’ve got them all. They all love hearing the sound of their own voices. Blech. This is why I watch very little TV, and none of it is “reality” shows.

lighenup if you don’t watch much TV how do you know who has been seen the most? MisngNOLA what about the homeless guy with the radio voice. He made a fool of himself, all his talk of being changed. There are other homeless guys to families that don’t get noticed.

@bmonk -Me too. With the proliferation of TV channels, they are looking for just about anyone willing to make a fool of themselves. I watch a few reality- mostly cooking and design competitions (and there are plenty of those).

I don’t think it’s fair to put news and new opinion folk that work VERY hard at their jobs into this category.

Even though I think Olberman is repulsive as are are ex-mates at MSNBC, they don’t fit the nobody becoming famous thing… okay, so many are annoying… and okay many were nobodies before their shows (okay, I’m starting to lose here)… BUT (aha!) they have legitimate jobs and work very hard and even have great educational backgrounds. Even Glenn Beck has a doctorate, and O’Reily is a Harvard grad (or is it Yale?). That makes O’Reily no less a nobody than Obama. Just saying.

They all at least achieved their status due to hard work, not a flash in the pan. Plus, most those news TV/radio folk aren’t technically celebs (though maybe a few of the elite are, like Rush or Beck).

But yes, those reality nuts and B-rate (or worse) actors and musicians that simply want to be “famous” are horribly annoying, if not a bane on our society.

DJ, the ones I listed fit the “annoying” part in my opinion. It wasn’t really a comment on them being nobodies. Just hearing the names of many of those makes me change the channel, the radio station, or find something else to read.
