I may stay home, but I don’t plan to go to bed early.

When both my parents were still alive, we spent New Years Eve with eating and drinking Feuerzangenbowle – I never used cinnamon etc. for that (too Glühweiny), only decent red wine, good rum (never Strohrum!), the Zuckerhut on its specific thongs, oranges and lemon.

My father went to bed right after watching the fireworks, and after that, my mother and us (my husband and me) sat down in the kitchen to get rid of the left-over Feuerzangenbowle. ;-)

    Good times…

If tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, does that mean that today is New Year’s Eve Eve?

I usually stay in and go to bed early, but I wake up at midnight from the noise of my neighbors using fireworks or shot guns.

In recent years, I’ve been falling asleep before the ball drops.

Even though it is illegal in my town to pop fireworks, we will not be able to sleep due to the noise. So, no, I will not go to bed early.

Standing on my shed roof gives me a nice 360 degree view, but I always wear a hard hat. Too many idiots who think it’s okay to fire a couple of shots into the air.

why is going to bed at a normal time boring? I prefer to wake up feeling refreshed from sleep rather than stay up late and feel tired all the next day

It’s not necessarily about being boring…at a certain age, you need to take a nap to be able to stay up & see the ball drop…
