It looks like she hit you pretty well CB.

Chuck needs to start working out. She caught up with him too fast! He had a good 10-20 feet on her.

And I thought Calvinball was intense.

Need a new ball, Charlie!

I see a few problems with this strip.

1. Charlie Brown and Lucy are on oposite teams.

2. Charlie Brown actually hit the ball.

3. Charlie Brown’s shirt is supposed to be yellow.

4. I don’t think that’s a legal ball.

So Lucy picks up that thing near home plate and, what, chases down Charlie on his way to second?

I always thought that batting helmets were made a requirement to protect batters from the pitch, not the tag.

Been there, Done that!!

Seems to me it is…lol

wow, he really did draw more detail in the earlier strips, didn’t he?

What, exactly, is Lucy pitching? A destroyed baseball? A flower… but a flower wouldn’t WHOP! a person upon impact… but would explain why it when nowhere when it connected with CB’s bat.

What does he mean? There were two hits.

Today’s strip reminds me of my childhood days in New York City. A piece of paper for home plate that you weighted down with a rock, the baseball falling apart. Schroeder, do you have some neatsfoot oil?

It’s a hitting game on the seventh panel.

Hate to break it to you, Charlie Brown. Baseball was no longer a hitter’s game when your folks were born.

We once payed a game with “that” ball…I whopped it and it fell half way to first, I beat the throw and it went somewhere, I took off for second, same thing….Same thing at third…and I made IT home…HOMERUN!…It helped that everyone was laughing so hard, our ribs hurt…about 1953 Redwood, City Ca.Hawes Park…the neighborhood kids…Who could forget…or make that up….
