Butter is sticky, so of course it lands on that side. Just like if you eat anything containing tomato sauce while wearing a white shirt—they attract each other. You’re doomed.
There were some experiments; a simple piece of bread with butter will almost always land butter side down. Part 2 was finding out what would it take to land butter side up, if I remember correctly; enough force to push the bread and butter 3m from the table, with some spin, and it will land butter side up.

I am guessing but wouldn’t the butter make that side of the bread heavier so that it pulls the butter side down?

But this raises the old question: what if a cat is attached to the unbuttered side? They always land on their feet.

Didn’t the Mythbuster made an episode about that?

Experiment! Cover the back of a cat with butter, and toss him into the air! We might discover levitation!

However, butterring both sides is a definite cheat.

That is directly dependent on the cost of the carpet and/or the cost of the carpet cleaning.

This will be tested decades later. The results are the opposite.

That’s because you always butter the bottom of the bread.
g.iangoodson about 2 years ago
This is because you have buttered it on the wrong side.

What if you butter both sides?

The buttered side sticks to just about everything.
