Snoopy stands at the baseball field and thinks, "Me?"<BR><BR> Lucy stands next to Shermy. Lucy says, "Snoopy?" Shermy says, "Really?"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown looks at a piece of paper. He smiles and says, "Snoopy has been chosen 'Rookie of the year'!"<BR><BR> Snoopy holds a trophy. Schroeder says, "Look at the trophy they gave him!" Five says, "And the bronze plaque!" Linus says, "Congratulations, Snoopy! You deserved it!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown says, "Wow! One of my own players . . Rookie of the year! Isn't that something?"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown turns and says, "Okay, team! That proves we're not so bad after all! Let's get out there now and win this game . . . Let's show 'em how to play!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown stands on the pitcher's mound. He pitches the ball and looks up in the air..<BR><BR> Snoopy holds the trophy. The ball lands on the ground behind him.<BR><BR> Charlie Brown frowns and says, "I know what award I'll win . . 'Stomachache of the year'!"<BR><BR>
My view is that Shermy last appeared in the strip on November 9 1975, although some people aren’t quite convinced that the character in question is genuinely him.
