One thing that contributes to Peanuts’ staying power is how everyone is in love with each other. There’s no official or implied couple, no relationship arcs, no will-they-won’t-they, no love triangles, nothing. The characters can date whoever they want and since the series is very episodic and self contained, the relationship doesn’t have to stick around. We need more shows like that.
I’ve seen this in Peanuts strips before. A character will just repeat the same thing over and over; in this case, the “touch of romance” line. I never understood why, even when I was a kid.
Give it up, Lucy. Schroeder’s into classical music. He’ll never earn a decent, much less extravagant living playing the classics! You need to find a rock star to satisfy your ego.

Lucy’s best idea, then.

I’m surprised he isn’t complaining about wax dripping on his piano.

After all, Schroeder is a Beethoven fan.

What does Liberace say about the candle?
GerryRoss about 1 year ago
Schroeder should watch what he says. Considering Lucy tossed his piano into the kite-eating tree, she’d have even more fun with a lit candle.

Since Schroder appears in today’s “Peanuts”, don’t forget that it’s 10 days until the anniversary of the birth of his favorite composer!

Give it up, Lucy. Seriously. Schroder is one of The Boys in the Band. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

If a candle is burning in a forest….

If Schroder’s not more careful, his hair is going to be lit up, too. Then the candle won’t be symbolic of romance, but a very real danger in the room.

If that candle is too loud, better turn it down. You don’t want to wind up like Beethoven.
