Peppermint Patty used to think that Snoopy was a “funny looking kid” like Charlie Brown but now she is treating Charlie Brown as though he is a dog like Snoopy!
I just wonder if the expression “you’re taking your sweet time getting over here” seems to be derogatory and disapproving, would it have been better if Chuck took his bitter time getting over there instead?
Wow, Charlie is the unbelievable good friend. He’s willing to sub for his doggie in the night air, all night. Fortunately, he draws the line at wearing a leather collar. No doubt Patty will hold this against him for years to come. It’s too bad someone can’t tell Patty she’s not the mug-gable type. She’s the one that might be kidnapped and then released just to be rid of her.

How is one kid, who is less physical that the one he’s protecting, going to be any more of a deterrent to a mugger than a beagle was?

I still don’t see why it’s his or his dog’s job miss bossy boots. Your dad is responsible for you not a little boy.
