Pig: What are you doing, Goat? Goat: Reading ancient Greek philosophy. I do it when life gets a bit overwhelming and I need answers. Pig: I have a philosophy I turn to in times like that, too. Goat: Oh, yeah? Which one? Pig: Eat gallon of ice cream. It's intellectually around.

Vanilla. Especially Bluebell Homemade Vanilla. I like it plain, with chocolate syrup, or with a scoop of strawberry alongside.

The only true philosophy is Breyers French Vanilla. All the rest are but frozen dairy and non-dairy products and by-products..That’s Pig’s story.
Goat’s version is: Aristotle or nothing!

When things get really, really bad, nothing beats mint chocolate chip w/ chocolate syrup and me wrapped in a blanket curled up on the couch watching some silly movie.

I’m a Dairy Nondenominational. If it’s ice cream, I’ll eat it regardless of denomination.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that in Canada you can not get ice cream labeled “Made in Canada” because 100% of the ingredients MUST come from Canada………no coco or vanilla beans up there.

Has Pastis temporarily given up on puns? “Intellectually sound” is a very weak punchline. Normally, Pig makes some crucial error in using an idiom. Here, he’s just talking nonsense.

I find that those Nestle’s ice cream cones help. I can stop at one, but I don’t always choose to. Unless there’s only one left.

Where did pig find a gallon sized carton of ice cream these days?
Godfreydaniel almost 10 years ago
@Neil FI’m not sure just how something that is notorious for brain freezes is “intellectually sound.” Maybe Pastis had a brain freeze when he tried to come up with a punchline for this one?

Read the Bible…does explain why we are so wretched, why we are so selfish toward each other, and our eternal redemption which we celebrate this Christmas.
