Actually, this one’s kind of pathetic, Cartoon Boy. You are just going to have to work harder if you’re going to succeed in destroying everyone’s morale…

I think Rat is wrong. Neighbor bob and his wife didn’t get a goose, he goosed his wife.

OK, I was thinking this was heading to something about giving her a goose, but that might have been too much for the comics censor.

I’m down with goose jokes.

I would have advised rat not to kill the goose that laid the golden egg; except Pastis isn’t a goose, and gold doesn’t smell like that.

cartoon boy slipped a lot this time … and that is saying a lot as my motto has been the lousier the pun the better … this is not up to par …

Nothing to do with the wordplay but just curious as I’ve seen this before on Pearls. Is saying ‘gotten’ a local thing? The rest of the English speaking world would say ‘Bob and his wife have got a goose’ if they are suggesting they have had one for some time and they may say ‘Bob and his wife have now (or just) got a goose’ if they mean to suggest it was recently purchased. Gotten?

Past participle in this part of the “English” speaking world:He gotHe had gotten.

Who’s Frank? And maybe he’s the problem in Neighbor Bob’s marriage. Just saying.

If I were making a goose joke, it would be about a man who can’t keep his hands off a woman because he likes the way she looks; what’s good for a gander is good for a goose.

as we used to sing at camp “tiptoe through the ducky-doo, tiptoe…” i know, but somehow, singing the same bit with goose never caught on, even if it was more accurate
