It’s a cancel culture. The right cancels the left, the left cancels the right, then people cancel their newspapers because their fed up with the whole stinking thing.
Why did I delude myself into thinking that Stephen Pastis would let this gag go?! Am I really that stupid? Did I really think somebody would waste the opportunity to use something that good? Dan aka…ps do I really have the delusional mindset to believe people would care about what I just wrote?
And that, certainly reflects the “intelligence” of today’s ‘reporters’, and journalists’, who give us their ‘feel good’ stories, and their never ending ‘stories’ in which they attempt to come across as actually knowing what they are talking about. (Weather Guessers are an excellent example in showing that X years at university, does NOT instill competence or improve intelligence)
I seldom use the “j” word myself. But my hεll box is mostly occupied by things that have ALREADY served their intended purpose and are now awaiting a reincarnation as something else that’s useful.
Oh, yes, that would definitely be taking sensitivity to terminology way past the edge of reason. I think we could find some real examples, too, but … well, you know…
PBS used to be my favorite strip, but it’s really sunk low into lazy Boomer tropes the last few years. When Patsis is doing cancellation “humor” I think it’s time to end it.
I’m not sure i love this arc- from my end, it looks like it’s trying to make a jab at “PC” culture, but in doing so, it also dismisses minorities’ actual objections to prejudice, brushing them off as just overly sensitive. I’m sure I’m just thinking too hard, but overall it just doesn’t make for great comedy to me.
We really need to learn that the baby doesn’t HAVE to go out with bath water, meaning you can call nonsense for what it is and still recognize that there are many reasons for legitimate grievance in the world. It just takes a little critical thinking. Oh, and some moral fiber.

Oh, well, you had a good run. And here I thought that the censor would end Pearls Before Swine. I wonder that Stephan will do now.

Does the reporter understand that, according to the Black Eyed Peas, “junk in your trunk” is a term of endearment?

Hey. In German, we by now have the N-, I-, E-, and Z word. And counting.
The biggest problem about it is that we could run out of letters.

Exactly how would they cancel them?

Glad Pig did not mention his “Junk in his trunk”!

I think they made a joke about the J word in Elmo in Grouchland. Looks like Pearls owes Sesame Street some money for that gag.

I would hope that people keep their junk in their drawers. :-p
