It’s official—Rat is the most honest character in comics.

With a customer like that, Rat should be his normal self and they’d get along great.

At too many Starbucks, they greet you the moment you come through the door. But when you go to the counter to order, you’re left waiting.

The capitalist system is not cruel. Capitalists invest to earn a return by meeting needs or wants of others. But the people the employ? Some care, and some do not.

Snarky customer. He deserves Rat.

Rat’s customer service strikes again!

I would never again want to work behind a cash register, dealing with customers. I’ve done it, and I’m done WITH it!!

Rat needs to keep his big mouth shut.

All worth it to see Rat in a bow tie. I assume clip-on…

When a clerk asks me how I’m doing, I ask how much time do they have…

I find the checkout folks, as well as the rest of the staff, at Trader Joe’s to be unfailingly pleasant and helpful. It’s one of the reasons I often shop there. (And no, this is not a paid promo.)

Most of us do, Rat.

I always figured my employer was giving me wages in return for my labor. I gave them the labor. I also figured that along with that I owed them some loyalty and respect and gave them that, too. Even though some of what they had me (us) do was not particularly what I’d call germane. (New process exercises, what the Japanese were doing, this and that.) I figured if they wanted to pay me to sit on the front steps and whistle Dixie, I’d do it. Because I was not born rich, I needed the relationship to continue.

The good news: Rat won’t have to stay long because it’s Thanksgiving.

Well you’re not going to be able to come up with a “good” response to what the guy said on the spot.

I’d think the customer who asked “Do you really care” would commend Rat on the honesty of his response.

And the majority of the population makes that exchange daily.

Capitalism is a great way to make money, but it’s lousy as a religion.

Rat doesn’t give a rat’s @ss.
