Well now I know who LOST the spelling Bee. Dakota spell Phone…F.O.N.E But then I’m one to talk I used to spell Phoebe as Pheebe and Pheobe but hey at least she tries and they are bonding. I still remember Phoebe saying to Max “Spell my name”
I may be about 2½ times their age or so, but the more I look at “Feeby”, the more I’m reminded of the word “feeble” and think of it as a stealth insult.
My father had a classmate named Psyche. Her family pronounced it “Pish” because they had never heard the correct pronunciation. In high school she learned that the Greek is “Sye-kee” — but she was still “Pish.”
