The fact that she’s become so self-aware in recent strips makes me question if she’s going to break the fourth wall and acknowledge it. Imagine Phoebe saying, “I know your address,” then a panel shows Dana looking at her laptop’s screen and saying, “Wait, I didn’t write that,” cutting to a panel where Phoebe is knocking on her door.

Riding a unicorn the wrong way? You’d rather ride while looking at Marigold’s behind?

Worse still. What if they have a TV show or motion picture based on their exploits?

That could be a pretty funny arc…..except that’s basically what Pearls Before Swine’s running gag is.

I bet this kid is gender-Q, of color.

The struggle is real.

We’ll see whether there really is another unicorn called Marigold who has a kid riding her or whether Marigold has heard people talking about her and Phoebe and hasn’t realized it.

With 910 unicorn riders there’s probably not much contact between them. Phoebe could be a founding member of The Unicorn-Riding Kid Community.

She’s right. Get the panic attack out of the way, and let’s get back to business. You gotta learn some unicorn-riding tricks.

ARRRGH! I CAN’T STAND THE BUILD-UP OF SUSPENSE!

It can be, actually. Sometimes it’s to just get those dumb concerns out of the way quickly, sometimes it’s just to voice them to yourself and give yourself the chance to realize how dumb they actually are and decide to dismiss them rather have it happen in the heat of the moment.

Clearly it is time for Phoebe to go buy the riding on the back of a unicorn as a kid for dummies book
