I painted something by number once. It was about as ugly as anything I’d ever done. But better (sort of) than what I could have done free-hand. Not being abysmally stupid, I decided to do something else with my time.
I was about 19 or 20 before I realized that if I blurred the lines between segment, those paint-by-number things looked more real and less . . .structured. . .I know, I know. . .slow learner . . .but we didn’t have ANY art in school when I was a kid . . . and you’d go to hell if you colored outside the lines. . .have got some of Sue Coccia’s coloring books now . . . watercolor pencils. . .very kewl. . .
