Earl is a comedian in his own mind.

Now he’s down in the dumps.

Once Opal loved his jokes because they made her laugh. Apparently too much of a good thing wore her patience thin.

Corny, but funny. Earl don’t let her deflat your humor.

Earl is also an environmentalist. He keeps recycling his jokes.

Just don’t get stuck looking after it, Earl. After all, you know what they say: waste is a terrible thing to mind.

Well, Earl, your humor is very much appreciated by me…makes me laugh every morning!

When I was a boy of ’40s I saw all the housewives looking out their windows on hot summer days to watch the topless garbage men in gym shorts dumping the stuff in the back of their trucks. Unfortunately, they were all dressed like TV moms of the era.

Well, back to the old grind.

You’ve got to have a sense of humor to keep your sanity, especially if you are married.

I find it works wonders.

Good one, Earl! I’d use it myself, but since I already take out the trash without my wife asking me, I don’t get the opportunity.

In this household, had my husband said this, he would have received my typical response to his male humor, “a hefty sigh/groan” mix. He would have responded to be careful and not throw out my back.

My wife’s the same way. I have a sarcastic humor and she hates it.
