I don’t see why Opal can’t bend over and pick up the ones around her feet and clear a path through the blueberries. Even so it’s not very nice of Earl to not help her when she asked him to and I’m certain Earl will regret that decision! (If they were real people of course lol)
Funny, but living dangerously.cf. Norman “the Man” Chad. “In addition to his work on ESPN and on his Couch Slouch column, Chad wrote a book, published in 1993 by the Atlantic Monthly Press, called Hold On, Honey, I’ll Take You to the Hospital at Halftime (Confessions of a TV Sports Junkie)”
Funny! Suicidal, but funny. They are still a couple, at an age when devotion is also co-dependence for things that were simply done when younger, now require some extra effort or assistance. I’d check the refrigerator to see if there is anything long enough to swish a few out of the way for a place to sit on the floor for picking up. (loaf of bread, bag of celery, empty egg tray,..) Yeah, rinse them off and put them in the pancake mix. Getting off the floor may take some strategy too. Bending/squatting down to pick them up…problematical. I still can, but Opal?
Not to worry, Opal. You can just have your own version of South Bend, Indiana’s Blueberry Stomp! But in your case, you can just run 10 feet instead of 10 miles

Now this one is really funny. Sounds like something my Dad would try on my Mom. I expect retaliation will follow as it did for him.

Looking at and knowing the size of a container of blueberries, that looks like about FOUR containers worth of blueberries on the floor.
Pet about 3 years ago
Ugh, that happened in the car. The bag tipped over, the carton popped open and BAM, blueberries everywhere.
I thought I got them all but was still finding the odd moldy one months later!

He should have just handed her the broom, and then gone back to the game.
