For years and years, Mom and I carefully ‘threaded’ them back into their boxes so they didn’t get tangled—it was SO MUCH easier that way. Even down to repairing the boxes when necessary ! ! ! !

nosirrom 5 days ago Kids have it easy these days. I was the family detangler and had to do it without spray. I also had to find which bulb of the string was burnt out without the benefit of stay lit wiring. And hopefully it was only one bulb. ;-)

DAmra Leo 5 days ago There’s a spray for that? Who knew?

kartis 5 days ago There’s detangler spray?!

IN Adam@home comments. So funny. :

And be sure to check all 25,000 bulbs, because if one goes out, none of them work. If you need any help, I’ll be upstairs asleep.

If you are a true plugger you should ave started untangling lights in August, that way by December you’re so frustrated that buying new lights sounds good.

This is why dad used to leave the outdoor lights up year around, so all he had to do was flip the switch on Thanksgiving. Mom wouldn’t let us get away with that inside.

Yeah,I never could under stand how those little scudders interwove themselves over the summer after being carefully coiled up. After untangling them, I was too tired to put them and waited for the next put them up. Overnight they did it again!

“Real” pluggers, like my neighbor, never take them down from outside. They don’t leave them on all year but they don’t take them down.

My wife and I took a personality profile test years back. Mine said I have the patience to untangle Christmas lights. My wife’s came back most likely to marry an alcoholic. Cheers!
