    Excellent example of anecdotal evidence, as with dukedoug’s “egg guy”.

    These people may well have been sleazy, but just as likely that you only know this because you paid attention to them, and not all the others passing by who were just as bad – or worse.

    It is most certainly still available, either as the ready-built version of for the electronic enthusiast, “build-it-yourself” somewhat cheaper using Arduino modules.

    The question is why would you actually want an AVG product in any case?.There is little evidence that they do anything that the free MSSE does not, with some argument that M$ should know their OS better than anyone else (and of course argument that they actually don’t) and be in a better position to manage it.

    Yes, we also had one of those when I was – rather little. Branded “Greens” if I recall – and you will find that they are still what is used on bowling greens. The weight is deliberate..We however, did not have a bowling green, but at least four levels of lawn, some sloping, with sandstone or concrete steps (at least two) between levels and a sandstone flag path down to the lowest, which you can just imagine the big rollers going over..Then we got a Victa (Australian rotary).

    No, the GPS does not work if the phone is actually switched off, not to be confused with “sleeping” in which case it periodically and briefly switches on to “touch base” with the various networks – 3G/4G, WiFi, Bluetooth and such..The problem with this particular suggestion is that whilst the GPS service, being satellite, is dependent only on access to satellites which is to say, the sky, so that Danae could still navigate by latitude and longitude, being out of 3G range means that neither can she contact anyone, nor can Jeffrey discover any information about her – even if her phone is on..The only limitation on the GPS is that you require to have maps either loaded on the phone, or immediately available from the ’net, or memory in some form, of your home coordinates.

    It means … that people who habitually use Twitter do not – for whatever reason you may discern – read Non Sequitur..Now does that surprise you?

    Ahem. No. The iPhone is an “it”..Unless you choose to anthropomorphise it..{Siri?}

    As long as you remember, or it does, the coordinates of “home”.

    But a much more substantial proportion, I fear, than the ROTW.

    This is disturbing. Are Americans really so hung up about something as simple as peeing in the bush?

    And the need for euphemisms. It seems Wiley has (not unusually) touched a nerve here.
