    RE: News organizations,

It’s interesting to observe that “Balanced and Fair” always seems to depend on how often the facts/views presented are in line with what we already believe.

Moral relativism seems to be a hallmark of human existence.

George Carlin once expressed a universal truth of predictable irrationality:

“When you’re driving a car, anyone going slower than you is an idiot; anyone driving faster than you is a maniac.”

The best indicator that a person or organization it truly neutral would be that they are loved or (more likely) hated by both sided equally.

@Chris Maple:Man, I love that movie. I’ve got a sound bite recording of that dialog you quoted.

If anyone is keeping score, I’m pretty sure today’s pun is the worst ever.

Not sure what the big deal is. She’ll be “giving birth” to an egg. It will be quite some time before they see the “beautiful child”.

I suspect, perhaps, we’re all missing the joke.Comedy is generally more poetic and less literal..PTA is Parent Teacher Association. If you home-school your children, you’d be carrying on a meeting with your self..It’s that simple. You may not agree that it’s funny, but I seriously doubt today’s strip was intended to be disrespectful..We home-schooled both our children but I’m just bi-polar..For the record, schizophrenic disorders include, but are not limited to, multiple personalities. One literal translation for schizophrenia would be: divided brain/head..Think “schism”.

There’s a medium sized store near me that has 17 “disabled” parking spaces. I’ve never seen more than 2 used at any one time. If 17 disabled individuals ever visited that store at the same time, they would have arrived on a bus.

I’ll start by admitting that I’ve read no other comments; so this is a response directed only to today’s strip:

There are those of us, many of whom you might otherwise suspect of possessing above average intelligence if you were to meet us in casual circumstances, who believe it is entirely possible that the Earth is between 5000 and 6000 years old.

I would venture to guess that the majority of individuals who share this distinction (myself included) would enthusiastically agree that not everything one can read on the Internet is true.

What a marvelous world it is that contains such diversity of thought.

Keep it coming, Stephan. Your strip is one of the great joys of my day.

Isn’t obvious? Haven’t you heard? Gender assignment is oppressive. The baby should be able to choose for itself.

You guys seem to be enjoying this so much I haven’t the heart to say what I wanted to say about this cartoon.

However, this thread is an interesting commentary unto itself when one considers that the audience is infinitely more funny than today’s panel.

@Overtaxed. No. Up to this point, I haven’t expressed a belief. But, since you’re asking…I believe that my own opinion splayed out in a comment thread on a comic strip web page is of roughly the same value as the average lottery ticket.I believe that there is an entire class of people (on either side of any argument) who define their existence by being offended. Their rehearsed but ill-conceived gainsaying of rehearsed but ill-conceived rhetoric is as the bleating of sheep in a room full of those who would otherwise carry on an intelligent conversation.

I believe that great advancements can be made in the wake of a frank exchange of views and I wouldn’t stifle that for the world.

I also believe that you have essentially proven my point and that I will henceforth heed my own advice and save my opinions for a forum in which civilized and gentlemanly discourse can occur.
