Think of it as an IQ test, surely you’re smart enough to check the seat before you fall in

When I was younger, I put the seat cover down too. My cousin used it after me. He didn’t lift it back up and just pooped on top of it. I got in trouble for him doing that, because I shouldn’t have left it down.

It must not be a Ferguson, or he wouldn’t belittle it. We all know that a Ferguson is a man’s toilet. A Ferguson says: “I’m a toilet, sit down and gimme your best shot.”

… at least according to a certain well known shoe salesman.

Well, I have a Kohler high profile extended front toilet. I also installed a proper slow close “French Curve” seat that is exquisite to nestle your tookus on. When my 4 AM foray into the darkest regions of the main floor and finish up I just flip the seat and it slowly closes for the next user at 6 AM and then she lifts it cause she knows I’m 71 and “I’ll be back”.

Men generally have smaller bladders than women and urinate more frequently. Leaving the lid up makes sense for mixed sex households. You have to be responsible for checking the lid position yourself. If you don’t like having to touch the toilet lid, maybe you should consider washing your hands after using it.

My hubby balked at closing the lid until our kitten jumped in and he had to bathe her. This was decades ago, and he still closes the lid—-a good habit to develop, guys!

I grew up with my mother and two sisters (after my older brother moved out). They kept telling me to put the lid down so they wouldn’t fall in, I told them I would as soon as they started lifting the lid up for me when they were done. Turn about is fair play.

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. (Or something.)
