I was observing one couple having dinner at a restaurant and both were on their phones. My wife and I were intrigued and had a bet about whether they would get through the entire dinner without saying one word to each other. And then I realized we were watching them watch their phones so we were no better!
My wife and I went to a restaurant and across from us a family sat down, and mom, dad, brother and sister all proceeded to pull out their phones and ignore each other. So much for a “family” dinner.
In a restaurant once when a father, mother, & daughter were seated near us. I looked up a little later & saw the parents both engrossed on their phones. The daughter, about 10, was reading a book! I tried to sneak a picture, but regretfully failed when the father looked up … rats …!
Gotta get glasses with built-in one-way monitors. Like pop used to say, all people are no dαmn good except you and I, and sometimes I wonder about you.

Maybe there’s a candle app that causes the flashlight to flicker.

My happy moments include concert encore calls with lighters. I shopped, found one with a 5” flame. Fans holding high their phone lights leave me cold.

I will never be found in a restaurant with dim or candle lighting. One cannot enjoy a meal that one cannot see.

How else are you gonna post your food on social media, so everyone else in the world can see that you’re eating a cheeseburger?!
