All cheese is processed. Some snob decided swilling bacteria is good but adding vegetable oil goes too far. There seems to be a general lack of understanding that “taste” is an opinion; “good taste” is a myth to make some people feel superior.
It’s all about making the stuff as cheap as possible and still get people to pay for it.
There is a long list of “foods”, additives, chemicals, colourings, preservatives, pesticides, processes and other stuff that is allowed to be used in food in the US that is NOT allowed in most of the rest of the world. Profit is more important than the health or lives of their customers in the US. Yet these same companies adjust their products when they want to sell them in other countries. In the US lives have no value. Unless you can afford to sue. By then it’s usually already too late.
Travel anywhere in the world and you will usually get better quality and better tasting food than in the US. And usually for a lot less money.

The U.S. has for profit healthcare. This pairs well with the food.
