Dear Marcia Brady, a lot has happened since I last wrote. Wars have been fought, governments have fallen, and great advances in medicine have been made. Most Hollywood types rarely follow the news unless their name is in it.
Linda Dean: All life is politics! When Clinton was in the White House a year, I said you could slide him into the Eisenhower administration and no one would notice. Before taking office, when Obama announced his cabinet (with all those Bushies and Wall Streeters) I said you could slide him into the Reagan administration (if no one noticed his permanent tan). Romney would be closer to Harding or Grant. No hope but to file a protest and vote for Jill Stein and the Greens, and hope there will be a future.
Right — if any strip was the wrong place for a contemporary political rant, this one is it. Besides, as George Bernard Shaw noted, democracy assures that the people will get the government they deserve. And that’s enough said.
SCAATY: Not quite enough. While I tend to agree the majority (mostly apathetic) gets the government it deserves, all the people seldom do. You can work all your life for justice and equality, but the other side can still buy a tyranny.

I wonder how many Hollywood types can actually read the news, even if their name is in it!

Well Hollywood a Hollywood type has made it to the White House, but I doubt that’ll happen again.
