The pool is so small that in an hour, the water will be warm. If not, it’s too cold to be in the pool anyway. Maybe he could ask Mom to boil some hot water and mix it in to hasten the warming….?
this is actually a good comment on cold shock… In case you didn’t know … cold shock can stop the heart… Everyone should Splash themselves to accustom their body to the upcoming temperature that’s going to be submerged in… Cold shock can stop the heart and kill children.
I can remember doing that in NYC before the pool opened we would go to. Me, my buddy, Patrick, and the other gals would all get on the subway and go to the pool. Stayed all day as our mom’s packed us a lunch. Was sad when it closed up but then we moved, once my brother was born. There was a pool club there so my dad knew how much I missed swimming, so we joined and I taught my brother how to swim. The club asked me to teach the other kids and my parents could save the membership fee for 6 months, my dad like that! Then I got older, got a car and I could go to beach whenever I wanted to.
I liked to put a big blue tarp down and the sprinkler in the middle of it. Then kids ran through, splashed in the puddles or slid in them. Of course, I had to make sure to pick it all up within an hour or two or the grass would die.

Red is waiting for the solar heater to warm up the water in his pool . . .
Rover covertly added that new bag of party ice into the pool hoping for a bowl of cool water.

The old sprinklers were so much better. They sprayed straight up then dropped down ….more fun. Come Red, why are you hesitating? It was your idea……

Things were so much better back then – love, hugs, and a quick dash through the sprinkler

Can’t believe I used to dive right into, and play in, the ocean. Now, touching the wet sand chills to the bone!

Maybe Rover could warm it up first? (Body heat, not the other some of you are thinking of!)

There is only one way to get into cold water – jump in. You could be all day (or never get in at all) if you try to prepare.
