Transcript:
richard's poor almanac - by richard thompson november skywatch the november night sky is dominated by the vast, gassy midterm nebula. if you squint at it just right, it looks kinda like 2 weirdly-matched animals locked in some violent conflict. many people regard the midterm as a portent of doom, or hope, depening. fortunately, we only deal in hard scientific facts, not metaphysical mumbo-jumbo, so we won't comment on all that. pluto: i'll get you for this! earth: hey! also visible is the former planet pluto. it has taken its recent demotion quite hard, becoming an angry rogue planetoid that zips drunkenly all over the solar system. it will pass close by the earth several times next week. and november 17th marks the return of the leonid meteor shower, if you're into that stuff. we're not, but, you know, have fun. oop: yawn.
