And how – pray tell – did armadillos get leprosy? From other armadillos?

Bloomberg has told his employees that anyone who correctly guesses the Sweet 16 in American College Basketball gets $1M a year for life and it’s not the first time he’s offered a huge reward for any of his employees who guesses the Sweet 16

If they all chipped in and gave us all 1 million dollars, they wouldn’t even feel it!

Like Mark Twain the reports of Bloomberg’s death are greatly exaggerated. I find it interesting that five of them have nothing better to do than to tell the rest of us how we should dispose of our money to improve the lot of all those needy folks out there.

I would like to see each one of these men chip in to a fund to prevent & cure leprosy in armadillos (& humans)!

When they do start a foundation, it seems to have their smarmy faces on it and your money in the coffee can.

Obviously there is great inequity and some wealth distribution is in order.

And all those rich guys think and speak about how wonderful it would be if somebody else paid higher taxes to support the poor. Now the Gates Foundation has done some wonderful work, but this year Bill Gates is once again the world’s richest person, so I don’t seem him (nor any of the other 8, either) as the equivalent of the widow putting her three copper coins in the poor box.

More power to them! They earned their wealth, and created millions of jobs in the process.

Several sites on the Web mention that leprosy did not exist in the New World before Columbus, and the theory is that the armadillos caught leprosy originally from humans. But it really is a rare and hard-to catch-disease and is treatable. Not that it’s something you would like to have! But it can be avoided in these cases by not skinning or eating armadillos, as some people do.
