I didn’t know there was such a thing as a “pizza farm”. “I want a large pepperoni, extra cheese”“Sure thing. And you’re in luck because the wheat season is about to begin. If we can milk the cows tomorrow, we can deliver by mid-February.”
How do the pizza farms schedule the various harvest/butcher/aging seasons? “The wheat is ready, but the mozzarella needs another 90 days, and the pork sausage hasn’t been weaned yet.”

I don’t think “cultivate” would be the right verb for cheese and pepperoni.

Pittsburgh is the home of Heinz. On my camera strap there’s a Heinz pickle pin given to advertise a meeting there.

Found a “pizza farm” in Missouri, in an article: “12 of America’s Best Pizza Farms”. Weirdly, it referred to it as being in “the Mid-South”.

Note to Picklesburgh: I googled your website and didn’t see any pickled corn on the cob. My county fair blue ribbon winner.

I wonder if the pizza farmers grow their own wheat for the dough?

I have been to Picklesburgh, it was a hoot. I don’t much care for pickles, but just the oddity of the event made it fun.

The concept of the pizza farm is ruined if they don’t use a proper 900°F pizza oven.

the pickle thing is so very easy to believe it’s not very believe it or not.

But the pizza farm thing—that I did not know.
JohnShirley1 about 1 year ago
