I love walking through graveyards. Me too. I know it's weird, but it's so peaceful here. In a dark sort of way... Everything is in its place. For me, it's because all these people are dead. So, I'm like hey, I'm better than all of these people! Hey dead governor! You know what's better than power? Living! Hey dead painter! You know what's better than the subtle interplay of light and shadow? Not bein' a corpse! Hey dead family who all died on the same day! You- Please stop. I am so pumped

One of many variations on an old epitaph:.To you who now are walking by,As you are now so once was I.As I am now so you will be.Prepare yourself to follow me..(Shiver) Is that eerie feeling from someone walking on my grave? I hope not, as I plan to be cremated.

It used to be common for families to picnic in graveyards, when they were the only green spots in cities.

The graveyard near my house when I was a kid was great! Not only was it a short cut to my friends’ house. It was quiet and there weren’t many adults around (not living, anyway) to intrude on our free range childhood. But best of all was reading the gravestones. Some dated back to the Revolutionary War. It was also eye opening to see how many people died as children in colonial times.

I used to have thoughts like this guy, but even as a kid, I was too mature to express them like this.
